SOME
is used mainly in affirmative sentences before:

ANY is used mainly in
interrogative and negative sentences
before:
- plural nouns: Are there any books on the top
shelf? No, there aren't any books on the top shelf.
- uncountable nouns: Is there any butter in the
fridge? No, there isn't any butter in the
fridge.
NO is used before:
- plural nouns: There are no books on the top
shelf.
- uncountable nouns: There is no butter in the fridge.
