Some of the most common prepositions are:


  INTO
(movement): Go into the classroom and wait.   If you don't mention any place, use in only:  Go in and wait.

  IN   (no movement): Big Ben is in London.

  ON   (touching a surface): Put the book on the table.

  UNDER  (below something): You can't see the cat because it's under the table.

  FROM   (origin): Jennifer is from Australia.

  TO   (destination): Go to the supermarket and buy two botttles of milk. 

  AT   (no movement, general): Derek is at home.
